இன்று 22 மாலை ஐந்து மணி அளவில் ஆரம்பித்த மழை சுமார் ஒரு மணித்தியாலங்கள் பெய்ததுடன் சுமார் 6 மணி அளவில் அக்குறணை நகரத்தின் பிரதான வீதிகள் சுமார் மூன்று அடி வரை நீரில் மூழ்கியது.
கண்டி யாழ்ப்பாணம் வீதியில் அமைந்துள்ள அக்குறணை நகரின் ஏ – 09 வீதி, துனுவில் வீதி ஆகியன நீரில் மூழ்கியது.
அக்குறணை நகரம் நீரில் மூழ்கி உள்ளதால் வாகன போக்குவருத்துக்கு தடை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.பல வர்த்தக நிலையங்கள வெள்ளத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது தெரியவருவதுடன், இரு மாதங்களுக்குள் மூன்றாவது முறையும் அக்குறணை நகரம் நீரிழ் மூழ்கியுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது.
