சாட்டிபடை முகாமில் உள்ள கடற்படையினர் இருவர் நேற்று அதிகாலை யாழ் நகர் பகுதியில் உள்ளகடைக்கு சென்றிருந்தார்.
இதன்போது அந்த பகுதியில்நின்றிருந்த பிக்கு ஒருவர் சிறிய கத்தி ஒன்றினால் கடற்படை சிப்பாயின் முகத்தில்கீறி காயப்படுத்தியுள்ளார்.இதனையடுத்து சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக காயமடைந்த கடற்படை சிப்பாய்யாழ் பொலிஸ் நிலையத்தில் முறைப்பாடு ஒன்றை பதிவு செய்துள்ளார்.
பின்னர் நேற்று இரவு யாழ் நகர்ப்பகுதியில் நடமாடிய குறித்த பிக்குஅப்பகுதியில் சென்ற இராணுவத்தினர் மற்றும் போலிசாரிடைய வாகனத்தின் மீது கல்லால் எறிந்து தாக்குதல் நடத்தியுள்ளார்.
மேற்படி சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக பொலிசாருக்கு தெரியப்படுத்தப்பட்டதை தொடர்ந்து அவ்விடத்துக்கு வந்த பொலிசார் பிக்குவை கைது செய்துள்ளனர்.
